Wow we have had a busy time. Caz had a baby!!! Little Joe Alexander (actually not that little 9lbs 11oz). So needless to say the blog has been left to gather a wee bit of dust.
At the shop it has also been all go. We have received some very cool shipments including Kio Kio body care, Ecoya candles, Saben bags, Elk accessories from Melbourne, Bholu cushions from Aus and a new jewellery range called Stillen which is extremely cool.
Coming up is the August gift fair (shopping for Christmas already) and of course the ski season. We get very excited about that down here. Joe already has his skis! Unfortunately he needs to learn how to stand first.
Here is our latest newsletter. If you would like to subscribe click on the link at the bottom of our home page.
Welcome to our first Newsletter!
Rachael and I have launched our Gifted Design Store website www.giftedesign.co.nz and our database is now up and running. This means we can now inform you of the latest designer gifts and you will be able to shop from home!!!!!!
We promise not to bombard you with emails (even though we get very excited about some of our new products). Talking about new products look at what we have in store below:
PRATTEN wallets, belts and bags have arrived and they are gorgeous. You may remember our eel skin clip purses. Well now there are belts in 6 vibrant colours, clutches in eel skin/leather combinations and leather totes of which we only have 4. One in each colour. So it will be first in first served.
Boh Runga's new range is inspired by the Chinese Zodiac which for 2010 is the TIGER. All pieces are solid sterling silver and made by our own New Zealand Mint ensuring the best quality and craftmanship.
Kio Kio is new to Gifted Design Store. This body care range is formulated from certified organic products and natural plant extracts. The body wash, lotion and soap will leave your skin feeling silky smooth. Fragrances include Pacific Tiare & Ti Kauka, Frangipani &
Puriri and Citrus Petal & Tarata.
So have a look at our website. Any feedback is more than welcome. Also pop into the store as we have many more new items that we will endeavour to get on the website as soon as possible.
Have a great weekend!
Post-script. If you cant find a product on the website that you know we have, give us a bell or email and we can sort it out for you. xx

Since our last entry we have been busy busy, working and playing. Our Christmas lead up in the shop was fantastic and yet again it blew all previous years out of the water! Then came the New Year which in Wanaka is always heaps of fun especially with all the cool NZ bands coming our way. Later in January we had the Challenge Ironman event which meant there were a heap of people wandering around in very tight lycra. (I know a few girls in the mall were not complaining!) The start of February meant the beginnings of some very cool concerts including Rippon, which was stinking hot, and Millbrook which included Dave Dobbyn, Tim Finn and Bic Runga.
The other very cool news is that all the latest collections from our suppliers are starting to appear. We have been really lucky to get a shipment from Nancy Bird in Australia already (they haven't even shown the collection at the Sydney gift fair!). Nancy Bird produce some of the most beautiful leather bags and purses we have seen and we will be loading these on the web site asap!
Rach is off to the NZ gift fair in Auckland in a few weeks so we cant wait to see what all the suppliers will have for us up there.
We hope you all had good summer breaks and we will be in touch very soon with our cool new products.

Our web site has been launched and we can't wait to start sending our gifts out to New Zealander's and those abroad. Rachael and I have been planning this since last year and for many months it was only a dream we would discuss endlessly over a couple of wines. So we were lucky to have Andy come on board and lead the way into the website world. Andy has been fantastic and we think our web site looks and feels as cool as our Wanaka store. We cant wait to keep adding to the site and we welcome any suggestions.
We have been super lucky to secure some fantastic suppliers for our website inlcuding Bob Steiner Ceramics, Studio Ceramics, Gill Gane, Living Light Candles, Esther Diamond, Ingrid Anderson Textiles, Moa Revival, Saben (oooh!), Pratten from Aussie, Kagi jewellery, Jo Luping ceramics and jewellery, Eden Ripley, Nellie Tier and Sommerset Studios. Thanks to all of you for helping our dream come true.
Other news...Christmas Party this Friday, watch out Wanaka, the team is out on the town! Talking Christmas, we love this time year and hope you do to. The team at "Gifted" would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We will be taking turns enjoying the Wanaka sun but of course the shop will be open for those of you who are in town and would like some retail therapy. (We will close Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, we need to bring in the new year too!)
